Hello all,
What an excellent little company this is. Beautiful facility, clean spacious bathrooms, caring funny and low key staff. We spent the afternoon there yesterday, August 2nd. We took out three duckies, one of which our ten year old used and two others were in the raft. Ian was our talented guide.  But honestly, every guide was terrific and engaged.  They behaved as if we were the first guests they ever had.  Amazing.  Patient!  I can imagine it is less than ideal to have newbies out in kayaks on the river, yet your guides are amazingly patient and encouraging. Thank you for a wonderful experience. Last but not least, the pictures you took were incredible! So glad we invested in that take home momento.
We will be back, God willing.

Fall River Trips

September 09, 2014

Float down the French Broad River with us this Fall. Immerse yourself in the vibrant colors and earthy smells of Autumn. We are open through October and into November.

We've been getting a lot of calls lately asking how late in the year we are open. Well, technically we try to be open just about any time somebody wants to go rafting, and we have guided trips every month of the year, but realistically lets just say we are open through October and into early November. Though we have come very close to doing a Thanksgiving trip in the past, the weather just refused to cooperate. Too bad. We would love to do a turkey dinner trip on the river with all theRafting on the French Broad River fixins.
In any case. The fall is a great time to go down the river. The water is still relatively warm, the mountains are gorgeous with the fall foliage, and there is just this sense of stillness that comes with the changing of the season. Punctuated by some spicy little rapids.
Those who are concerned about being cold should fear not. We have wetsuits, fleece and all sorts of cool weather gear designed to help keep you warm. At no extra charge, by the way. Also complimentary coffee, tea, hot coco, and apple cider. And if we get lucky with the weather, a (not complimentary) turkey dinner.
